Our Mission
The mission of First Baptist Church of Stuart is to exalt our Savior, Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit by equipping the saints to evangelize the sinners into obedient citizens of the Kingdom of Christ in the context of the local New Testament Church.

Our Beliefs

  • We believe the Bible is the Word of God, supernaturally inspired, so that it is inerrant in the original manuscripts and preserved by God in its verbal, plenary inspiration, so that it is a divinely authoritative standard for every age and every life.
  • We believe the Godhead exists eternally in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - and that these three are one God.
  • We believe God is the absolute and sole creator of the universe, and that creation was by divine fiat, not through evolutionary process.
  • We believe God, by His sovereign choice and out of love for men, sent Christ into the world to save sinners.
  • We believe Jesus Christ in the flesh was both God and man, that He was born of a virgin and that He lived a sinless life, in which He taught and wrought mighty works and wonders and signs exactly as revealed in the four Gospels, that He was crucified, died as a penalty for our sins and was raised from the dead bodily on the third day.  Later He ascended to the Father's right hand where He is the head of the church and intercedes for believers, and from whence He is coming again personally, bodily, visibly to this earth to set up His millennial kingdom.
  • We believe that in His death, by His shed blood, the Lord Jesus Christ made a perfect atonement for sin, redeeming us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.  Men are saved and justified on the simple and single ground of the shed blood.
  • We believe such salvation with its forgiveness of sins, its impartation of a new nature and its hope of eternal life, is entirely apart from good works, baptism, church-membership - or man's effort - and is of pure grace.
  • We believe a true believer is eternally secure, that he cannot lose his salvation, but that sin may interrupt the joy of his fellowship with God and bring the loving discipline of his Heavenly Father.
  • We believe all who receive Christ become join-heirs with Christ; at death, their spirits depart to be with Christ in conscious blessedness; and at the rapture of their bodies will be raised to the likeness of the body of His glory and dwell forever in divine presence.
  • We believe it is the goal of every Christian to grow in spiritual maturity through obedience to the Word of God and the indwelling Spirit.
  • We believe the Holy Spirit is a person, is God, and possesses all the divine attributes.  He indwells all believers, baptizes and seals all believers at the moment of their salvation, and fills them in response to confession of sin and yielded life.

Our Membership

PROFESSION OF FAITH AND BAPTISM
  • If you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord and follow Him in baptism by immersion, we welcome you into our fellowship.
BY LETTER
  • As a Baptist whose church membership is elsewhere, we will be pleased to welcome you into our church family should God direct you here.  We will happily take care of appropriate details by transferring your membership.
BY BAPTISM FROM ANOTHER DENOMINATION
  • If you know in your heart that you are saved and want to become a member of the First Baptist Church of Stuart, we invite you to join by baptism.  This gives testimony of your salvation and your obedience to His direction.
BY STATEMENT
  • In the event church membership records are not available for a transfer of membership, or if you were not a once Baptist church member, but are presently a member of another denomination, we will accept you upon your statement of these conditions.

Our Worship

Our worship services at First Baptist Stuart are a combination of praise choruses and traditional hymns in a blended worship style featuring our Celebration Choir, a mix of praise teams, ensembles, men's trio, and gifted musicians on the instruments.  Strong Biblical preaching of truth and congregational participation is the major emphasis of evangelical worship.
