Nick Bennett
Minister to Senior Adults
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” Matt 9:37
From my childhood days I had two goals—to sing and to travel. But my heart’s passion was to serve God.Through some 40 years of ministry, I have had these dreams fulfilled.

Graduating with my Bachelor of Music degree the Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio and after marriage to my college sweetheart Nancy, I began my professional career in Music.
The turning point came in my life when I discovered my heart’s passion was serving God. After serving several churches, and studies through New Orleans Baptist Seminary, I began my ministry at First Baptist Church of Stuart, in 1988.

Our ministry involves mission trips, Senior Luncheons, ongoing ministry to nursing homes with our “Good News Singers” and trips to Senior Conferences. In my leisure time I enjoy time with my wife Nancy, traveling or hanging out with our 3 children and 7 grandchildren. Enjoying God’s blessings day by day.

Children’s Ministry Director
Every morning I get to wake up knowing I have one of the coolest privileges, Children’s Ministry Director at FBC. It is a huge honor and blessing. God really shook me in my tracks my senior year while at summer camp. Pastor gave a sermon on the wheat and tares. At that moment it was clear to me I was a tare and immediately gave my life to Christ. To this day I haven’t looked back, just have kept my eyes on my savior.

I have always known I was wired different and found out why during a VBS. I was asked to paint some scenery and was sucked in. I’ve been there ever since. My desire to share with our kids no matter what is going in their world around them or how unstable things may seem, Jesus is a solid rock. Just because they’re kids doesn’t mean they can’t change their world. A small boy once stood up to a mighty giant. Oh, and we also like to have a good time

J.D. GARDNER
Minister to Youth

Josh Gardner is the New Jersey native that was blessed to marry his best friend, Florida native  Che’ Orman, on November 5, 2011
Both are alumni of Liberty University, newlyweds, and  expecting their first child this November!
God has called them together to a ministry of prayer, and to making disciples now.

Josh and Che’ firmly believe God has equipped the church to reach the nations.  Josh came to us having over  twelve years of ministry experience working with youth.  He served as a missionary for an entire summer in Camden, N.J. when he was 16 years old. Since that time God has taken him to Mexico, Nicaragua, India, England, and the Middle East.  It was in these formative years of  leading teams that Jesus revealed a desire for making disciples, and fanned into flame the desire to be in full-time ministry.

Nothing excites this couple more than deep intimacy with Jesus, the Great Commandment, and The Great Commission.
When asked, “What is your goal for the youth in the years ahead?”

Josh replied, “That every student would be true to Christ, be kind to everyone, and go to the lost world with the gospel of Jesus.”

Justin TenCate
Minister of Music
Justin TenCate has been Minister of Music at First Baptist Church Stuart since 2009. He is a graduate of Liberty University's School of Worship, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Worship Leadership from the Lychburg VA school, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2009.

Since trusting Jesus as his personal Savior at a young age, Justin has dedicated his life to leading others in worshiping the One True God in Spirit and truth. His greatest passion is to see the nations bow down before their Maker in thanksgiving, and the local congregation come into the Lord's presence glorifying His Name in worship.

Justin married his high school sweetheart, Kelly, in 2000. Their five daughters are the greatest joy of their lives.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker! (Psalm 95:6)

Karen Grantham
Assoc. Minister of Education
I have been working with children since 1987 in a school setting as either teacher or director.  In 1997 I was called here to First Baptist to be the Preschool Director.  I have wanted to work with children since I was 5 years old it wasn’t until I came to know the Lord that it became a reality at Gardens Baptist in Hollywood.  In 1979 I began working in Sunday School with the Preschool age.  It is my desire to introduce Jesus to them as their Friend, this is a start to a great foundation.

Colleen Highstone
Financial Administrator
I have been a member of First Baptist Stuart since 2000. In 2007, I joined the staff as Financial Secretary for the school, and in 2010 became Financial Administrator for the church and school. I graduated in 1982 with an Associate of Arts degree in Business.

I began my professional career in the banking industry where I held positions in marketing and lending. I left banking and started a business providing accounting services in 1991, which I continued for nearly twenty years before joining the First Baptist staff.

I was raised in Cocoa, Florida, in a Christian home and drawn to God at a very young age. I accepted Christ as my savior at the age of 8, but became aware of my need to make him Lord of my life in my early teens. I have been a follower of Christ my entire life, but have seen my greatest spiritual growth after a family crisis several years ago. I pray that my testimony will always point others to Christ.
What a mighty God we serve! Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing instant in prayer.  Romans 12:12

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God
Ephesians 2:8

I was born and raised in New Jersey. I accepted Jesus as my savior in Aug. 1998 at Christian Camp, in Massachusetts.
I've been married to my husband David for 12 years and have two sons, Jeremy & Patrick.

We moved to Stuart, Fl. I have been working in the church office part time since summer of 08 currently I have joined the staff full time.
I believe with each experience it has brought me  a closer relationship with Jesus, and pray for others to accept God’s gift .
During my free time, I enjoy digital scrapbooking and spending time with all my family.
