FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF STUART

100 years of history

On May 15, 1925, the first church service was held in the Sanctuary building at 201 SW Ocean Boulevard in Stuart. Thanks to dedicated church members from Rio and Jensen Beach and support from the Florida Baptist Convention, the First Baptist Church of Stuart was constructed.

For over 100 years, the church has been a guiding light in Downtown Stuart, attracting visitors from the Treasure Coast and beyond.

Since 1974, First Baptist Christian School and Preschool has educated thousands of students and served their families. FBCS opened on August 26, 1974, initially offering grades 1 through 6, adding grade 7 the same year and grade 8 and Kindergarten in 1976. The school’s mission is to foster transformation through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, integrating Biblical truth into all curricular areas to confront the secular worldview.

Throughout its rich history, the church has been recognized for its warmth, compassion for people, and the proclamation of the Good News of Jesus Christ both locally and worldwide.

On November 9, 2025, First Baptist Stuart celebrated its 100th anniversary. As we reflect on our past achievements, we also look forward to a promising future in ministry. God has given us a vision to build a new worship center, which will serve as the future home of our church and school on Kanner Highway in Stuart. This project aims to strengthen the community's connection with God and enhance His presence in Martin County and the Treasure Coast. We invite you to join us in prayer as we pursue this exciting vision.

OUR MISSION

We are a community of believers dedicated to spreading the message of Jesus Christ and leading others to faith in Him. As a church, our mission is to love our neighbors with the same profound love that Christ has shown us.

Our efforts are centered on guiding individuals toward the Savior, with the hope that they will experience the transformative power of the One True God's gracious love.

In all we do, say, and preach, we pray that we will radiate the light of Christ to everyone we meet.

"We love because He first loved us."  1 John 4:19

What We Believe

church

We believe the Godhead exists eternally in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - and that these three are one God.

church

We believe God is the absolute and sole creator of the universe, and that creation was a divine act, rather than the result of an evolutionary process.

church

We believe that, in His divine wisdom and love for humanity, God sent Christ into the world to redeem sinners.

church

We believe every Christian’s goal is to grow in spiritual maturity through obedience to the Word of God and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

church

We believe that in His death, through the blood He willingly shed, the Lord Jesus Christ made a perfect atonement for sin, freeing us from the curse of the law by bearing that curse Himself. The salvation and justification of humanity are grounded entirely on the sheer foundation of the blood of Jesus Christ.

church

We believe such salvation with its forgiveness of sins, its impartation of a new nature, and its hope of eternal life, is entirely apart from good works, baptism, church membership, or man's effort, and is of pure grace.

church

We believe a true believer is eternally secure and cannot lose his salvation, but sin may interrupt the joy of his fellowship with God and bring the loving discipline of his Heavenly Father.

church

We believe all who receive Jesus Christ become joint heirs with Christ; at death, their spirits depart to be with Christ in conscious blessedness; and at the rapture, their bodies will be raised to the likeness of the body of His glory and dwell forever in His divine presence.

church

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, supernaturally inspired and inerrant in its original manuscripts. We also believe that it has been preserved by God through its verbal, plenary inspiration, making it a divinely authoritative standard for every life and every age.

church

We believe the Holy Spirit is a person, is God, and possesses all the divine attributes. He indwells all believers, baptizes and seals them at the moment of their salvation, and fills them in response to confession of sin and yielded life.

church

We profess that Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin and led a life free from sin. Throughout His ministry, He taught profound truths and performed miraculous works, wonders, and signs as documented in the four Gospels. He was crucified and died to atone for our sins, and on the third day, He rose bodily from the dead. Subsequently, He ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He serves as the head of the church and intercedes on behalf of believers. From there, He will return personally, bodily, and visibly to establish His millennial kingdom on earth.

HOW YOU CAN FIND LASTING PEACE THROUGH A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST.

Begin your journey today!

GOD LOVES YOU AND HAS A PLAN FOR YOU!

The Bible says, "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16

church

Jesus said, "I came that they may have life and have it abundantly" John 10:10 - a complete life full of purpose...

But here's the problem...

MAN IS SINFUL AND SEPARATED FROM GOD.

We have all done, thought or said bad things, which the Bible calls "sin." The Bible says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

church

The result of sin is death, spiritual separation from God. The Bible says, "The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

The good news?

GOD SENT HIS SON TO DIE FOR YOUR SINS!

Jesus died in our place so we could have a relationship with God and be with Him forever.

"God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

church

"Christ died for our sins. ...He was buried. ... He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures." 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, but through Me." John 14:6

WOULD YOU LIKE TO RECEIVE GOD'S FORGIVENESS?

We can't earn salvation; we are saved by God's grace when we have faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. All you have to do is confess that you are a sinner, believe that Christ died for your sins, and ask His forgiveness. Then turn from your sins - that's called repentance. Jesus Christ knows you and loves you! What matters to Him is the attitude of your heart, your honesty.

The Bible says, "That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved." Romans 10:9

church

WE SUGGEST PRAYING THE FOLLOWING PRAYER TO ACCEPT CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR:

"Dear God, I know I'm a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that You raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do Your will. I pray this in the Name of Jesus. Amen."

The Bible says, "For whosoever shall call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
